Project Scope: Elevating global digital learning for U.S. diplomats and foreign service professionals

🧭 Challenge
FSI’s Distance Learning Division needed a strategic redesign of their course modules and digital platforms to enhance learning outcomes for a diverse global audience—including ambassadors, diplomats, and embassy staff—while aligning with modern design standards and accessibility compliance (Section 508).

🎯 My Role
I served as Lead UX/UI Designer across the end-to-end product design lifecycle, contributing not only to visual design, but also to experience strategy, accessibility, and team leadership.

💡 Key Contributions
UX Strategy & Research

Led stakeholder interviews, user surveys, and focus groups

Developed personas, empathy maps, and journey maps for internal presentation to the board

Conducted usability testing and data-informed design improvements

Design Execution

Created low- and high-fidelity wireframes, user flows, and interaction models

Utilized tools like Adobe XD, Sketch, Axure, and InDesign

Applied new UX/UI trends in animation and interactive learning graphics

Information Architecture

Directed navigation structures, taxonomies, and search schemas

Created responsive designs that aligned with accessibility and usability standards

Developed visual branding and physical assets for the Stephen B. Low Information Center at FSI

Team & Client Collaboration

Mentored and guided a UX team

Presented conceptual designs and strategy to U.S. State Department stakeholders
